Bowen Earns USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Honors in Pole Vault

2015 May 12

Mansfield University's Charlsie Bowen (Owego, N.Y./Tioga Central) was named to U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Atlantic Region honors in the pole vault for the 2015 outdoor track & field season.

The USTFCCCA is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The top five individuals in each event from each region earned the All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the regions' top three relay teams.

Bowen ranks fourth in the region with an NCAA provisional and school record height of 3.70 meters set this past weekend at the Oneonta Invitational. The freshman was the top finisher for the Mountaineers at the PSAC Outdoor Championships, placing fifth overall with a height of 3.52 meters.

Bowen has shown steady improvement throughout her rookie season, building upon her indoor track & field personal best of 3.45 meters. She currently ranks 26th on the NCAA Division II provisional qualifiers list.

The freshman has qualified and will compete at the ECAC's IC4A Track & Field Championships this weekend at Princeton University.
