Bowen Named Women's Indoor Track MVP; Foster Named Most Improved

2015 Apr 1

Freshman Charlsie Bowen (Owego, N.Y./Tioga Central) was named Mansfield University women's indoor track Most Valuable Player while sophomore Destiny Foster (Wysox, Pa./Towanda) was selected Most Improved. The announcement was made at the Mansfield Winter Sports Banquet this past Monday by head coach Steph Cadwell.

Bowen wasted little time in her young career to make an impact for the Mountaineers. In the first meet of the indoor season Bowen registered the second-best height in the pole vault at 10-06.00 and qualified for PSACs. Bowen was named ECAC Division II rookie of the week after her impressive debut. She finished her impressive freshman campaign by finishing fifth at the PSAC Championships.

Foster set a personal record in the 5K at the Grand Valley Big Meet by shattering her previous mark by more than two minutes and finishing with the fifth best time in the conference. At the PSAC Championships, Foster finished 10th in the 3,000-meter run with a personal best time of 10:17.09
