Grunza Named 2nd Team All-PSAC Field Hockey; Swingle 3rd Team

Kayla Grunza was named to 2nd Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) field hockey honors while Jessi Swingle earned 3rd Team All-PSAC in voting conducted amongst conference head coaches.

Grunza becomes just the fifth player in program history to earn All-PSAC accolades in all four seasons of her career along with Taryn Schawillie (2010-2013), Gretchen Reschke (1999-2002), Jamie Huffcut (1997-2000) and sister Kristyn Grunza (2009-2012). Kayla's selection in 2014 marks a seven-year run of a Grunza being named to all-conference honors dating back to Courtney Grunza's first of three All-PSAC nods in 2007. The Grunza family has collected 11 total All-PSAC honors for Mansfield in that span.

Grunza was a pillar of the Mountaineer offense, starting all 72 career games where she totaled eight goals and nine assists for 25 total points. The midfielder totaled 88 career shots with 55 shots on goals for a 62.5% SOG percentage. Grunza recorded two goals and three assists in 2014.

Swingle picks up her first All-PSAC selection after leading the Mountaineers in scoring (5), points (11), shots (42) and shots on goal (28) in her senior season. One of the top defenders in the conference, Swingle recorded four defensive save for the Mountaineers in 2014. Swingle totaled 21 defensive saves in her career including an NCAA Division II leading 10 defensive saves in 2013.
