Grunza Named Synapse Sports 2nd Team All-American

Senior midfielder Kayla Grunza was tabbed Synapse Sports 2nd Team Field Hockey All-American.

Grunza, who was named 2nd Team All-PSAC in November, started all 18 games for the Mountaineers and topped the team in total minutes played in 2014 with 1,236. At midfield, Grunza scored two goals and had the game-winning goal in a triple overtime shootout at Seton Hill. She also tallied three assists on the season.

Grunza was a pillar of the Mountaineer offense, starting all 72 career games where she totaled eight goals and nine assists for 25 total points. The midfielder totaled 88 career shots with 55 shots on goals for a 62.5% SOG percentage.
