Meadows Nets All-Atlantic Region Honors

2015 Dec 1

Freshman standout Delaney Meadows has been selected to 2nd Team Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) Division II All-Atlantic Region Team honors at Forward in voting conducted amongst regional sports information directors and released today.

Meadows is the second player in program history to receive an all-region nod and is the first since Natalie Adams earned 2nd Team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Atlantic Region honors in 2008.

Meadows had a stellar rookie season with the Mountaineers, scoring a single-season school record 12 goals in 17 games. Meadows scored a goal in her first collegiate game against California before recording back-to-back hat tricks against IUP and Daemen. She was just the fourth player in program history to net a hat trick and the first to ever record two hat tricks in a career. Meadows went on to add five more goals throughout the season including the game-winner in the final 30 seconds against Millersville.

Meadows also added two assists to total another Mansfield single-season record with 26 points. She tied for second in the PSAC in goals (12) and goals per game (.706), ranked third for points per game (1.53), sixth in shots per game (3.12) and fifth in game-winning goals (3).

Meadows was named to 2nd Team All-PSAC honors at forward and was the first Mountaineer in program history to be named Rookie of the Year.
