Mounties Earn 12 All-CSFL Honors - Bucek, Harris, Nicolas, Post and Robinson 1st Team Selections

Joe Bucek and Kyle Post were repeat 1st Team selections joined by freshman Aren Harris sophomore Alexander Nicolas and junior Ricky Robinson to highlight 12 Mansfield selections to the 2015 Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) post season team.

The 2015 All-CSFL Team was announced today by the CSFL office.

Mansfield had six 2nd Team selections included Robinson, who was selected in total at three different positions including 2nd Team defensive back and kick returner, seniors Sean Green, Evan Ruggles and Spencer Underdown along with freshman offensive lineman Steven Sicilia.

Senior John Capwell was named to Honorable Mention.

It marked the third straight 1st Team selection for Bucek at tight end. The senior ranked 6th in the CSFL with 22 receptions for 316 yards and a touchdown this season and finished his career as the Mountaineer all-time sprint football receptions and yardage leader hauling in 81 passes for 998 yards.

Post has now earned 1st Team All-CSFL honors in each of his first two seasons with the Mountaineers at defensive back. Post recorded 32 tackles in 2015 including 26 solo stops. He finished 7th in the league this season with three interceptions returning them for 39 yards.

Nicolas anchored the defensive line in his first season with the Mountaineers, ranking among the top 20 tacklers in the CSFL with 37 stops including 23 solos and a sack. He also had a team-best eight tackles-for-a-loss.

Robinson, who was named to All-CSFL honors as a punt returner, kick returner and defensive back, was named to 1st Team honors at punt returner where he was first in the league in return average, returning 10 punts for an average of 12.9 yards. He finished third in kickoff returns, averaging 24.0 yards on 22 returns. Robinson was also picked by the CSFL head coaches to 2nd Team honors at defensive back picking off two passes while recording 18 tackles including 16 solo.

Green led the CSFL in punts and yards this season, kicking the ball 44 times for 1,585, averaging 36.0 yards per punt. The Mountaineers all-time punt leader, Green has punted the ball a record 164 times during his career for 5,453 yards for an average of 36.0 yards per punt. He also finished second on the team in receiving catching 14 passes for 147 yards.

Harris had one of the most impressive rookie seasons in CSFL history, leading the league in rushing and attempts, running for 576 yards on 202 carries while scoring four touchdowns. He ran for a school record 153 yards in a win over Chestnut Hill and picked up 106 yards in a win over Post.

It marks the third straight season Ruggles has earned CSFL postseason honors. The senior defensive lineman was an Honorable Mention selection in 2013 and 2014 before being named to the 2nd Team this season after racking up 40 tackles including 22 solo and six tackles for a loss.

Underdown was named to All-CSFL honors earning a spot on the 2nd Team as a sophomore in 2013 and 1st Team in 2014. This season Underdown ranked among the CSFL tackle leaders despite being hampered by injuries. He ended the season with 45 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-a-loss and an interception. Underwood finished his career ranked fourth in career tackles with 133.

Capwell played just one season of football at Mansfield after completing his baseball eligibility. The senior finished second on the team and ranked among the league leaders with 44 tackles including 33 solo tackles. He also recorded two pass breakups, forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble.
